Welcome to AnesisRO! To help the transition of players both new and old to Ragnarok Online, we've provided this guide with all the information that you'll need to get started in Rune Midgard!

Creating a Character

When you first log in, you will be presented with a Character Select window.

Each square is a placeholder for a character whose information will be displayed below. Click on arrows at the left and right of the character slots or use the keyboard ← and → arrows to scroll through your characters. You may have 9 characters total per account. The numbers below the character boxes (1/3, 2/3 or 3/3) indicate the page number.

To create a character, select a character slot and press the Enter key, click on the "make" button, or simply double-click on it. This will bring up the character creation screen where you can name your character, customize the character's hairstyle by pressing the arrows around his or her head, and adjust your starting stats. More hairstyles and hair colors will be available at the Stylist after you enter the game. (See: Stats/Status Points/what should we name this page?)

When you are happy with your character, press the Enter key or click on the "OK" button. Note: You might receive a message that says "Character name already exists." If so, the character creation window will remember the stats and hairstyle you wanted but not your hair color. Make sure the hair color is correct, and try another name. It would probably be better to try to make up a completely new and unique name rather than add symbols just in case the player with the original name is still active, but that is up to you.

Once you have successfully created a character, you will see it in the character slot you chose. If you decide you don't like the character anymore, you can press the "del" button at the bottom left and enter your e-mail address to delete the character. Be very careful that you delete the correct character!

To log in, simply select the character and press Enter, click on the "OK" button, or just double-click on the character. You should appear in the Novice Training Grounds!

Novice Training Grounds

Welcome to the Novice Training Grounds! Here, you can talk to [insert NPC name here] for more information or just walk east towards the castle(?). Can choose direct access to Ragnarok Online or go through a series of tests and training. If you are new, highly recommend going through the training... etc. Brief intro to battle (click and hold mouse or use nc... lol)

Novice equipment set info?

Payon Dungeon

Rennard Quest and stuff.

First Job Change

Once you reach job level 10, you can change to your first job! This can either be achieved through the Job Changer NPC in Prontera at
Prontera City, Capital of Rune Midgard(prontera) : 135, 185; Inside Prontera(prt_in) : 46, 110
or Alberta at
Alberta(alberta) : 108, 231
or via the quests listed below. Completing the job change quests will give you a Beginner's Weapon for your job, which gives extra exp and other buffs. If you use the Job Changer NPC, you will not receive a free Beginner's Weapon, but you may complete an additional quest to earn one.

Note: you may wish to take advantage of the Novice set bonuses for as long as possible before changing your job, particularly if you want to change into the Mage, Archer, or Acolyte classes.

Swordman : Mage : Archer : Merchant : Thief : Acolyte
Super Novice : Gunslinger : Ninja : Taekwon Boy & Girl

*If I may make a suggestion, perhaps you might find a way to include information about the Stat/Skill Reset, Platinum Skills, and Rental NPCs somewhere. Also, don't forget to explain the Kafra system and introduce players to the Stylist.

More Leveling

Recommended areas and strategies...
Payon Dungeon
Bibalan
Orc Dungeon
Toy Factory
LHZ and Einbroch Field
Glast Heim for Mage, Archer, and Acolyte

Your Second Job Change

Once you reach job level 40, you can change your job again, but you can bring your job level all the way up to 50 (and keep the extra skill points). It's recommended to job change at 50 for Mage and Acolyte, but other jobs can get away with job changing without much detriment.

For Swordsman, please see the Knight or Crusader pages for more info. etc., table chart might be better here
