Thanatos Tower is a dungeon located west of Hugel. Aside from scarce historical documentation and spoken legends, very little is known about the tower's origin. The most widely accepted theory is that the tower was built to honor the legendary magic wielding swordsman Thanatos' victory over Demon King Morroc.
Interested in extracting its secrets, Rekenber Corporation has restored the tower's lowest floors and has opened them to the public, charging admission to tourists to fund their continuing renovation efforts.
- There is a party requirement of 5 or more for Level 3 and up.
- To access Level 7 and up, you need to be Level 95 or above.
- Thanatos MVP requires Fragment of Agony, Fragment of Misery, Fragment of Despair and Fragment of Hatred to be summoned. These can be collected from "Thanatos" named mobs throughout the tower.
- Thanatos MVP also has a 2 hour cooldown before he can be summoned again.
Quest Steps
- 1. All party members must register with the Guide NPC (tha_t01 149,74) for a Temporary Work Contract.
- 2. Proceed to the Entrance Guide (tha_t02 231,161) on the second floor with complete party in order to proceed to the third.
- 3. Obtain the following Keys in the following order:

| GREEN KEY | 6F (tha_t06 226,229) | Turn wheels like so: First option, Second option, Third option, First option, First option. |
| BLACK KEY | 6F (tha_t06 203,181) | Choose Second option. |
- 4. With all 5 colored keys, head to the middle of the map on 6th floor to go to the 2nd floor (here the Black Key will turns into Black Charm).
- 5. On 8F all keys except Black Key have to turn into charm at the corresponding coordinates:

- GREEN CHARM STONE
- 6. Enter warp in center.
- 7. On the last floor, work your way around to the center of the platforms in the following order:
- Input "Fragment of Sorrow." Defeat the Thanatos Maero.
- Input "Fragment of Agony." Defeat the Thanatos Dolor.
- Input "Fragment of Hatred." Defeat the Thanatos Odium.
- Input "Fragment of Despair." Defeat the Thanatos Maero.
- Defeat all four Thanatos mobs.
- The Memory of Thanatos MVP will spawn.
- 8. Once Thanatos' defeated, the party will have a short amount of time to pick up the drops before getting force warped back to 12F.
Related Quests
The Guide (tha_t01 140,78) will give you 1,000 zeny for turning in each Cursed Seal, Golden Ornament, Blue Feather or Red Feather dropped by monsters throughout the tower.
