Welcome. If you have clicked here, then you are a Ninja wishing to get some tips! Well, there is a lot to talk about when it comes to this class, and I mean A LOT. It's kind of hard to know where to begin honestly, but I guess I will start with the basics.

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Chapter 1: The Job Change

To start off, you are still a Novice probably. Ever since the server transferred over to Eathena, you, the Novice, have 2 different routes you can take to become a Ninja! The ways to become a Ninja are as follows;

1) You can talk to the job changer NPC in either Prontera or Alberta. This is if you are too lazy to become a Ninja the old fashion way (shame on you if you choose this path). Or if you are lost and have no idea on what you're doing. The Prontera one will be located here:

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

where as the Alberta one will be located here:

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

2) If you want to become a Ninja the honorable way, and really impress your sensei here, you can do the Ninja Job Quest.

Ok so you are a Ninja now, you are around level 10-20 I'm guessing (Unless you're some really rich dude who decided to get a level 50 Novice) and you have 1 Job Level. You are probably wondering where to find the gears required for this class. Honestly, you don't need super fancy gears to level your Ninja. Your Ninja's best friend will be the Ashura[2] that the NPC gives you at the start;

Ashura

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Please note that there is a [3] version. The Ashura you will be given is a [2] version of it. But I will tell you how to get the [3] version of this weapon later; since the [2] is all you will need for now.

Now for simple Armors. As a Ninja, You will need to gather up simple gears such as these;

Bandana

Sunglasses

Flu Mask

Adventure Suit

Muffler

Shoes

Clip[1] x2

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Please note, these are NOT your permanent gears. Don't go thinking that once you get them you will be a godly Ninja or that if you get these gears you will look strange forever. These are only suggested gears to get you started. These gears can all be NPC bought except for the Clips. Which is why I chose these gears to help you get started. You can buy the Adventure Suit, Muffler, Shoes at a NPC in Prontera Located right near the Job Changer;

Spoiler for "Prontera City, Capital of Rune Midgard(Prontera): 174,218":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Sunglasses you can by in Alberta here;

Spoiler for "Alberta(alberta) 117,41":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

the Bandana and Superior Gauntlet can be bought here;

Spoiler for "Amatsu, the Land of Destiny(amatsu) 125,117":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

The Flu Mask can be bought here;

Spoiler for "Einbroch, the City of Steel(einbroch) 138,66":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Note: x surrounded by a black circle marks the spot!

The Clips you can buy from venders in Prontera/Alberta/Payon for around 50-100k (Not exactly sure). Or you can kill a weak MvP called Dragonfly which drops Clip[1] at a very high chance. You can find him if you go 2 maps down from Morroc City. Or you can use the Belt [1]'s that are available in the Prontera/Alberta NPC's. However I don't recommend them since they are very heavy and don't provide any bonus at all besides the slot. If you are in desperate need then just go ahead and buy one.

It is preferred that you get a Vitata Clip (lv. 1 Heal), Hiding Clip (lv. 1 Hiding), x2 Zerom Clips (+3 Dex, with 2; +6). If you are wondering why not a [1] Glove for the Zeroms, it is because a better card exists, Sting (+4 Dex). So wait until you get a Sting card if you obtain a [1] Glove, don't waste it with a Zerom card.

Ok now step 2;

How to upgrade to better gears

Well this is pretty straight forward, you collect money and you buy them right? If you didn't know, there is an easier way. Lets say your on a low budget, or even you might be busy all day. For everyday you can do a vote for this server which gives you ADs that you can buy simple gears with! Now for simple gears for your Ninja I mean something like this;

Apple of Archer

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
Ninja Suit

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
Muffler [1]

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
Shoes [1]

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
Shinobi Sash

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
Glove

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

You are probably looking at these gears thinking "Wow these must be very expensive". But the truth is, these gears are only 1 ad each! This is something you can do by voting very quickly. I really encourage you to vote. It will make your life much easier when it comes to simple gears like these. If you want to know where to vote, follow this link;

Vote for JellyRO
Note: It may seem like a little amount at first, but once you do all the voting you will realize you make around 25 cents a day. Meaning you get 1 AD in a few days! You also must have a forum account to be able to vote, do NOT use more then 1 account to vote. It is illegal and will get you banned on the spot! Using more then 1 account is called AD frauding, in simple words meaning trying to bypass the cool down.

If you are asking yourself "Which one of these gears do I get first?". I highly recommend you try to purchase the Ninja Suit and Shinobi Sash first. If you use both of these gears at once, you get this amazing combo;

Gear Bonus's alone; STR + 1, AGI + 2, MDEF + 4

Combo; HP + 300, for every skill you use it will consume 20% less SP.

That is an amazing combo for this class. You should always go for this combo before anything! Once you get this combo I recommend you buy the Apple of Archer and the Glove next. Both of these items combined give you a total of +5 Dex! Dex is not only important for your Magic speed, but it also improves your accuracy with Range moves such as TWS, Kunais, Shurikens. Now for the Shoes [1] and Muffler [1]. These items you can either find from monsters (Wouldn't recommend it if you don't like adventure and patience), buy them from venders, or buy them with 1 AD like I mentioned. Honestly buying these with ADs is a lot less of a hassle. Not to mention they can be expensive and hard to find. These 2 items should be the last thing you get though.

The Ninja Hideout

With the addition of Eathena on our server, we now have the long lost Ninja Hideout! Which is located at Amatsu right here;

Spoiler for "Amatsu, the Land of Destiny(amatsu) 149,139":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

At the Ninja hideout, you can find the following things. However, if you became a Ninja correctly. You would of already noticed these things here;

  • You can buy Kunais, Shurikens, Ninjitsu Orbs, and various other Ninja accessories here.
  • You can find Ninja equipment quests for just about all of the Ninja weapons and shields.
  • This should be a gathering area for the Ninjas of this server, why isn't it? This upsets me... /sigh

Chapter 2: Time to find a Leveling Spot

Ninjas can gain a maximum level of 99/70. The reason why is because Ninjas tend to have more skills and they can only be Ninja, they do NOT have a second class! Ninjas should always PvM with a Magic build (Unless your level 99). You should always have only Int and Dex in this build. Your Int should be at least 20-40 more then your Dex. Trust me the power is more important then the speed right now, especially when you are beginning. Lets say you are level 30, your stats should look like this;

Int= 47
Dex= 15

When you start a Ninja, you should always start your leveling at either Payon/Orc Dungeon floor 1 (Which ever one is more exp and easier for you). Stay here until you have Ice Spear lv.1 and Cicada Skin Shedding lv. 5. Get the following skills to obtain these skills;

Spirit of the Blade lv.1 < Ice Spear lv. 1
Improvise Defense lv.1 < Shadow Jump lv. 5 < Cicada Skin Shedding lv. 5

When you obtain these skills, your job level should be Job 14. If you are Base level 25. Then you can continue to the next leveling spot. If not, stay here until you are at least 25/14+.

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Your next leveling spot should be Prison. In order to get here, you have to talk to Anne the EX-Stylist (the orange haired Kafra girl) in the same building you changed your job at. In Alberta, she will be near the Job Changer there too, except shes a little more down right. [s]When you talk to her say "Shut up and give me your money" (No you don't literally steal her money).[/s] (Ever since the Eathena update, it's now a yes/no option). You will now be in Prison. This is one of the ideal leveling spots for your Ninja. You can level here from level 25-80. The monsters you want to hunt here are the Zombie Prisoners, and the Injustice. With the new addition of the Skeleton Prisoners since the Eathena update. Please note, the Hunter Flies can be a huge threat! Especially if you are mobbing here! So make sure you watch out. Make sure you also keep track of your Cicada Skin Shedding! Remember it will only last for 3 hits, once it runs out, use it again. Once your Cicada Skin Shedding is on, keep attacking your enemy with Ice Spear. Eventually, your next skill you should get should be Raging Fire Dragon. In order to get this skill you must get the following;

Spirit of the Blade lv.10 < Crimson Fire Petal lv.5 < Crimson Fire Formation lv.7 < Raging Fire Dragon lv. 5

Once you obtain Fire Dragon, you can start mobbing around 15 zombies/injustice if not more! Meaning your leveling is going to start getting a lot faster. Please note, the skills Crimson Fire Formation, Raging Fire Dragon, Lightning Strike of Destruction, Kamatachi, Hidden Water, Ice Meteor, Illusionary Shadow all require a special Ninjitsu Orb Catalyst! The skills Shuriken Throwing and Kunai Throwing both require Kunai and Shuriken Ammunition to use! In order to buy these Ninjitsu Orbs, Shurikens, and Kunais. You must visit the Ninja tool shop which is coincidentally right next to the building you bought your Bandana and Superior Gauntlet at!;

Spoiler for "Amatsu, the Land of Destiny(amatsu) 98,117":

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Lets say your Ninja is level 80/45+ now. The EXP is probably starting to slow down at Prison now. Once you turn to level 80 you can probably start leveling at stronger areas. But before you do so, make sure your Stats look like this by lv 80/45+;

Int= 82
Dex= 80

Notice how you want to try to have equal amounts now. But at this point, you want to keep your Dex at 80 until your Int is 99 (Power is still always the first thing!). Once your stats start to look like this, you can try stronger dungeons to get better EXP. I recommend places like these until you gain lvl 99/70 (Yes you will be able to level at these spots til the maximum level, unless you get a leech);

  • High Orcs (Easiest)
  • Anubis or Ice Dungeon 3 (Intermediate)
  • LH3 (Very Difficult!)

Note: If you have any successful Ninja leveling spots to share, share them here!

High Orcs

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

This is far by the easiest place to level at for low budget Ninjas. You should use the basic gears that you currently have. The skills you should use here are the following;
  • Ice Spear lv.1-10 (Which ever levels tends to be the fastest and most decent at this point)
  • Crimson Fire Petal lv. 5 (This is used to protect yourself from the Orc Warriors, Orc Ladies, Orc Archers)
  • Lightning Strike of Destruction lv. 5 or Kamatachi lv. 5 (Which ever one you like better, you can also try Ice Meteor lv.5; but it tends to be a very slow skill. This move is used to mob. You will not use Fire Dragon here since the High Orcs are Fire property.)
  • Soul lv.5 (If you have the points for it)

Note: if you need more help on setting up your skills, use this simulator (Remember, this is Job level selectable!);
http://ratemyserver.net/skill_sim.php?jid=25

When you go to level at High Orcs. Please remember to watch out for the Orc Archers as they can be very annoying (Regardless if you use improvise defense or not). At High Orcs you should also try mobbing almost all the time unless you really have to battle just 1.

Anubis

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

This is the spot where I got my Ninja from 80-99 to. Refer to the guide I made on this area a long time ago;

Anubis Leveling with a Ninja guide
By: Neutral12

Before I start, if you don't know where to find the Anubis's. You need to go to Sphinx dungeon and go to either floor 4 or 5. (Floor 4 is easier for beginners). Why Anubis's? Because the EXP there is amazing (Base EXP: 140,000 , Job EXP: 110,000). It provides an alternative to Thors, it's easy EXP over all.

Build: For the build you want to use the usual Mage build (Int and Dex).

Recommended Level: I recommend you start going to Anubis when you are around level 80; Otherwise train at Prison.

Skills: The skills that you use there are the following;

1. Crimson Fire petal level 10 OR Crimson Fire Dragon Level 5
2. Ice Spear Level 10
3. Cicada Skin Shedding Level 5 (This should always be level 5 anyway)
4. Soul Level 5 (That extra 5 Int helps a lot)
5. Kamatachi 5 (The reason why Kamatachi was used is because for 1 Pasanas/Minorous are fire prop, so no Dragon. 2 Ice Meteor has a huge delay. 3 Kamatachi Is highly Spammable) and/or Lightning Strike of Destruction to 5.

Gears: This is what I used there.

Kaho
DI
My usual gangster mask
Evil Druid (Bathory also works, however, the Int Evil Druid gives helps this class.)
Bazerald (Ashura with Drops will be a better alternative if you happen to have Stings/Celebs/Brys)
Cranial Guard (Toad works better however, I didn't have a Toad... and GTB also works. But GTB will make your spells cost a lot more then they already do. You use GTB there due to their wind spells.)
Raydric (I didn't use the Deviling because of the Magic they use. Dustiness would also probably work there.)
DL
2 Berz (2 Celebs/Stings also work. If you happen to use a Drops Ashura, try the Celebs/Stings, you will probably have a faster cast. Same with Brys.)

Items I used: everytime I went I brought 1000 Sushis and 850 GJ. To those who don't know where to find Sushi; if you go down from the warp girl in Amatsu near the bottom. You will find a building on the right side toward the bottom of that road (However Sushi's can be annoying due to the fact you can only buy 10 at a time. Meaning you gotta spam him for awhile.).

Tips for leveling here:

1. You DON'T want to try to mob here with a Ninja. Trust me, it's a bad idea. The only reason why I had a Mob move was in case a sudden mob came toward me.

2. When your fighting Anubis, you want them to put you into a Wall. (this way it is easier to spam your Crimson Fire Petal, Dragon, or Ice Spear on them.)

3. If you find Pharaoh there, don't even bother fighting him just teleport away. I was never able to beat him as my Ninja.

Please note that either Bathory or Evil Druid plays a huge role leveling here (I recommend the Evil Druid more). It blocks not only the Anubis's dark soul strike. But it also stops their attribute attack (+1 INT if you use Evil Druid). Making it so they can only use their lightning spells on you. The lightning spells honestly shouldn't be that strong, if anything, use a Dustiness garment.

Ice Dungeon 3

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

From what I know, Leveling on the Ice Titans and Snowiers here make amazing levels here. The only thing that can make this spot difficult is if you are against a Gazeti. Kinda acts like an Orc Archer if you know what I mean, but faster. Gears you should have before coming here are a Marse carded Garment or a Raydric (Which ever one works for you); and you should also have an Unfrozen Wind armor (Aebeccee's Raging Typhoon Armor [1] with a Marc card) or if you have a GTB shield bring that! If you can only bring 1 thing you MUST bring the Unfrozen Wind armor or GTB. Otherwise, the Ice Titans here are going to freeze you and destroy you when your Cicada is broken. The skills you should use here are the following;

  • Wind Blade (Which ever level works best for you)
  • Kamatachi Lv. 5 (This works better then Lightning Strike of Destruction at this dungeon)
  • Soul Lv. 5 (If you have the Points)
  • Improvise Defense at any level (Just in case your fighting a Gazeti and you need to defend yourself from Range Attacks)
Please Note that you should try to get away from the Gezetis if possible. They can be a real pain in the ass just like Orc Archers.

Lighthalzen Bio Lab 3 (LH3)

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

This is the most insane, hardest leveling there is for Ninjas. Not only is it near impossible now a days, but it requires A LOT of concentration, strength, and determination. The only thing that made this possible in the past, was that the LK's, WS's, and SinX's were easy targets with Ninjas that had Cloaking or Shadow Slash (This is one of those places where you can use a Shadow Slash build to level). They would either use Shadow Slash with the right weapons/elements. Or they would go against a wall with cloaking and use magic until they were killed. Now a days though, it's near impossible. This is because the LK's are now Demon property and can see you cloaked. That and SinX's can now cloak and makes them too hard. The WS's haven't changed much though. Still pretty hard either way with all the other LK's that can see you. Anyway, I have never tried leveling here. But I did know it was possible until the LH3 update. However... There might still be some hope, but it requires you to be partied with a good Champion. First off you need these moves;

  • All your Single Target Magic (This Means Ice Spear, Crimson Petal, AND Wind Blade Adjusted to the level you are comfortable with. HOWEVER with the strategy i'm about to explain, you probably will want them all at level 10 for max damage)
  • Kamatachi and Raging Fire Dragon Lv. 5 (They can be used if you need to defend yourself from multiple enemies or more power when attacking just 1)
  • Soul Lv. 5

OR, use this move set to kill the Whitesmiths. This means you can have a hybrid build here, and it might just work out!

  • Shadow Slash lv. 5
  • Hiding lv. 1 (Must have a Smokie Carded Accessory to obtain this skill!)
  • Cloaking lv. 1 (Must have a Frilldora Carded Garment to obtain this skill! It isn't all that necessary, but can be a helper if your knocked into a wall and you need a fast escape route.)

Now the way a Champion and a Ninja team would work here is you would need the Champion to use Blade Stop (Freezing both the enemy and Champion). This allows you to do some free attacks with no worries of the enemy coming after you. Yea it's simple as that, maybe not but you can try it out, tell me if it works out or not!

Chapter 3: MvPing

Yes, it is possible. But you need to be a high Budget to be able to pull almost all of them off. The MvP's I killed were Amon Ra, both Orc MvP's, Zmey Gonrich, Garm, Phreeoni, Tao Gunka. I'll tell you the strategy to beating the MvP's that I have beaten. If you killed an MvP as your Ninja and it wasn't one of the ones I mentioned, please talk about it here!

Amon Ra

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: Pyramids B2
Skills used: Crimson Fire Petal Lv. 10, Raging Fire Dragon Lv. 5, Crimson Fire Formation, Cicada Skin Shed Lv. 5, Soul Lv. 5
Strategy: (Note: This may not be possible anymore due to Amon Ra's teleport update!) (This has been changed). When approaching Amon Ra, set up a Formation and start to spam Fire Petal repetitively. When he summons his Khalitzburgs, destroy them with Raging Dragon. Then go back to Amon Ra with the first technique. Be aware that he can get you with coma, which drains ALL your HP! Meaning you need to make sure you keep up with Cicada and have some Sushi with you, or condensed whites if possible! Try not to get complete HP when he Comas you, this way you preserve healing items when he attacks you next time.

Orc Hero

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: High Orcs Map
Skills used: Waterball Lv. 5 (If you have a Drake) or Ice Spear Lv. 5-10 or Crimson Fire Petal Lv. 5-10, Hidden Water (Which ever level suits you), Lightning Strike of Destruction Lv. 5, Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5, TWS Lv. 5 (Depends if you have Hybrid and a Rekka or not)
Strategy: Once you cast Hidden water and he walks on it, he will be slow like a Turtle. While he's in this mode you can destroy his mob of High Orcs with Lightning Strike of Destruction. If you have Waterball now is the time to use it while Orc Hero is Slow. If you don't have Waterball, use Ice Spear Lv. 10 while he is on the Hidden Water to do maximum damage; or you can use Crimson Fire Petal which does more damage then Water. If you are a Hybrid build, then you can go ahead and use TWS with a Rekka while your preparing the next Hidden Water cast. Make sure your not knocked into a wall and you have open space while fighting Orc Hero, or you will be cornered and destroyed!
Note: Ever since the Eathena update, it has Heal and Spiral Peirce. Be careful!

Orc Lord

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: The field outside of Orc Dungeon.
Skills used: Raging Fire Dragon Lv. 5 or Crimson Fire Petal Lv. 10 if it's fast enough, Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5, Soul Lv. 5
Strategy: Orc Lord can be pretty difficult, be prepared for a long battle and a lot of flying around. Make sure you also have a big enough supply of Green Potions, as he will use Lex Divina on you. Along with a good supplies of Healing items since he can stun you and can make things difficult. He also has an annoying mob of Orc Archers which will be left behind when Orc Lord finds you (Thank god). If possible, bring Holy armor which will be your best bet since he can use Bolt Magic against you; unless you prefer GTB, then use that. The strategy to this one is making sure you NEVER hit the wall (Trust me it's dangerous). As well as making use of all the fire magic you got and it has to be pretty spam-able to be most effective. Like I said this battle will probably take a long time, if you have Waterball, try to see if you can fit one in every now and then since the Hidden Water might slow him down.
Note: Ever since Eathena, he has Earthquake, be careful!

Zmey Gonrich (Gopinich)

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: Once you beat the Moscovia quest, he will be on the 3rd field of the dungeon.
Skills used: Raging Fire Dragon Lv. 5 or Crimson Fire Petal Lv. 10 if it's fast enough, Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5, Soul Lv. 5
Strategy: [s]This guy is pretty slow for a MvP[/s] (Ever since Eathena, he's a lot faster). He is earth property meaning you will need to get your fire magic to pull this off the best. He may be slow, however, he has an annoying mob of Mavkas that will push you away before u can properly hit him. Not to mention the slow moving monsters in general can be annoying as well and push you all over the place. The trick to this MvP is pure strategy. You need to know when to nail him with magic and when to find an open spot. Make sure you pack Green Pots for this MvP since his mob of Mavkas can silence. A GTB and Status armor can really give you a hand here since it can reduce the Mavkas attacks and will prevent his Mavkas from hitting you with Earth Spike and Zmey using Meteor Storm.

Garm (Hatii)

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: Lutie Field, which can be found by going to Lutie and going down one.
Skills used: Kamatachi Lv. 5, Lightning Strike of Destruction Lv. 5, Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5, Soul Lv. 5 | Shadow Slash Lv. 5, Hiding Lv. 1 (Must be obtained by a Smokie Card), Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5
Strategy: Garm is also pretty slow for an MvP, and he can also be beaten pretty easy if you know exactly what to do. Garm has 2 Strategies, this is the one MvP I have fought where you can do both a Melee or a Magic Route, both will work! Both have different strategies which I will seperate;
Magic Strategy: If you decide to use the magic strategy you will need your 2 stronger wind magic skills. However, you will probably end up using Kamatachi the most because of it's magic range and the fact that it does more damage. LSOD (Lightning Strike of Destruction) should be used if your fighting Garm and another monster comes for you. Basically your just nailing him with the skill the whole time. Make sure you always hit the first monster in his mob to hit them all at once! The only annoying thing about Garm is the fact that his Baby Garms will use frost diver and Gar will use SG. It is always best to use either Unfrozen Wind Armor or a GTB (GTB being the best). Another thing you can do is Hiding and Shadow Jump away. If timed right, you can completely evade SG and Frost Diver with just Hiding!
Shadow Slash Strategy: This strategy involves timing and knowing what to use when. For this a Fumma Beneki plays a huge role, if possible, get one with a Turtle card! Or maybe even a Drainler or Goblin carded one. To do this method you should wear an Unfrozen Wind Armor; since you can't use GTB due to the Fumma. You should also be wearing a Raydric or a Marse Card, which ever one suits you. This is impossible without a Smokie card for hiding! For this to work, you must have good timing with Hiding<Shadow Slash<Shadow Jump, in that order. You must have just the right range to be able to cast a Shadow Slash and get away. Try to avoid getting too close since he can see you under the Hiding! If you get too close this defeats the purpose of Shadow Jump and will cause you serious problems! As long as you go with the flow of the Shadow Slash pattern you should be able to pull this off!
Note: Please remember to keep track of your Cicada Skin Shedding while you do this!
Note: Ever since the Eathena update, it has wide freeze. Be careful!

Phreeoni

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: Morroc Field 17, which you can get to by going to Morroc city, down 2 maps, then right 1 map.
Skills used: Crimson Fire Petal Lv. 10, Crimson Fire Formation Lv. 10, Crimson Fire Dragon Lv. 5, Cicada Skin Shedding Lv. 5, Soul Lv. 5.
Strategy: Phreeoni can be taken down pretty quickly by using all your fire magic. The best armor to use against him is fire armor and a Hode or Raydric garment. Since his hodes and sandmen have earth attacks, Phreeoni does too if I remember correctly. If Phreeonis mob starts to annoy you, take them out by using the Crimson Fire Formation / Crimson Fire Dragon Technique, the same one you used back at Prison. Otherwise, keep destroying him with Fire Magic, which ever one works best for you. If done correctly, you will notice he goes down pretty fast.
Note: Ever since the Eathena update, it has wide stone curse. Be careful!

Tao Gunka

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: Beach Dungeon; you must go to Comodo city and take a far left.
Skills used: Any magic you like the most, I prefer to use Ice Spear since it has the most hits. You should also have a mob move you like the best. For this MvP I prefer Crimson Fire Dragon the most. Since it does most damage and you can select exactly where it hits.
Strategy: Tao Gunka is pretty straight forward; the reason why I said to use any magic you want is because he is a Neutral property MvP, meaning all magic works! When you first find Tao Gunka, you want to see if you can nail it's mob then attack Tao Gunka. Like any other MvP, a mob vs your Ninja can be an annoyance. Not to mention while he's re-summoning his mob you can nail a few hits on him in the process. Be warned though, Tao Gunka has an SP draining move and a stunning move. Both are seriously negatives against your Ninja. Be aware and bring a lot of GJ!

Atroce
Battled and MvP'd by Ninja sasukeswrath

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Location: ra_fild_02,03,04 ; ve_fild_01,02. Easiest being ra_fild_04 and 03. To get to these places you must start at Ice Dungeon, then go down once. To get to ra_fild_04, take a left from the destination.
Skills used: Ice Spear lv. 5-10 (which ever one works best for you), Raging Fire Dragon lv. 5, Hidden Water lv. 10, Waterball lv. 5 (Must have a Drake card to obtain this skill!)
Strategy: Since I heard from sasukeswrath that he has done this, I have decided to try this out myself. I found it easiest to have Waterball on your side as well as Raging Fire Dragon. However, Ice Spear will also work. It's just not as much damage as the Waterball. When I fought against this guy, the first thing I did was lay down my Hidden Water. This will slow down his slaves and Atroce himself, making him easier to defeat. Make sure you make advantage of this moment and use Raging Fire Dragon to defeat his Galion mob. Once they are down, use your Hidden Water to Waterball him (Or wait until Atroce is on top of Hidden Water and use Ice Spear). Keep this process going until he is defeated. He is indeed annoying because of his HP like sasukeswrath mentioned, so you must have patience!

Chapter 4: Ninja in PvP and Woe

So your Ninja is probably pretty strong by now, i'm suggesting you are about Base 90+ along with your Job being max at Job 70. Now you think you want to try PvP and Woe I see, well first i'm going to go over PvP and what your disadvantages, advantages, and strategies are.

The PvP Factor

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

In PvP, a Ninja is actually a really decent class. However, like any class on RO you need to practice and you must learn exactly what your advantage and disadvantage is on all situations. However before I go over any sort of advantage and disadvantage you have in PvP, you must know the following fact;

DO NOT USE A FULL MAGIC BUILD HERE!

It may have worked in PvM when you were leveling, and it may work in WoE (I will go over this later), but it will not have a huge advantage in PvP! Take a moment and try to learn your class a lot more before you decide to PvP. Notice how you have many different types of skills, each skill has it's own purpose and it's own different style of use. Each one can be used on a different situation where one does not. Lets say you are using magic, but your enemy throws on Mdef or a GTB; what to do you ask? It is actually pretty simple, it's called learning to master the legendary Hybrid Build. This build is not very easy to use, it's actually pretty difficult and requires a lot of different types of weapons, gears, skills, and stats to accomplish successfully.

How does the Hybrid Build work you ask? This is why you must be at least 90+ first of all. You want to make sure you have as many stats as possible! It's always the best to make sure your 99/70 before you PvP for maximum performance. You must use the following stats as your bases; STR, INT, DEX, VIT. The way you should set up these stats are the following, for STR and INT you must set toward your feel and how powerful you think it should be. At least enough so you can do some decent damage with both ways. your DEX stat must be just enough so your cast time with basically every skill you have (this includes Throw Wind Shuriken!) it's near IC, or fast casting to the point where you won't get interrupted very commonly. Don't forget that +'s in Dex will also help you cast faster! Don't worry about your HIT as it will not necessarily matter unless you use Throw Wind Shuriken which can be lowered by decent/high flee pretty easy! In that situation, you should try something like a Phreeoni carded Beneki or a Phreeoni carded Daisharin. Now for your VIT, this should be the last/least stat you get as the other 3 stats are very important for your effectiveness and your strengths. What VIT will do is give you some extra HP and a little more resistance to certain status's including some defense. However, if you truly need some more HP on your Ninja it is better to get yourself more HP gears such as DL's or DL/DI combo.

What skills are important for my Ninja in PvP you ask? Well to work your basic Hybrid Build in PvP, you need the following skills as a base;

  • Throw Wind Shuriken
  • Shadow Slash
  • Cicada Skin Shedding, you could also try Illusionary Shadow

From here you can choose any Magic you want to use. I recommend at least having 1 or 2 single target magics and at least 1 or 2 mob attacks. I do not recommend using 3rd class magic! Since it is costly to get. Please note that Magic is part of making the build successful, if you do not have any magic in your build it will be a Melee Build not a Hybrid Build. Some skills I don't recommend you using are skills such as Final Strike and Waste Money. Final Strike first off requires a special build and afterward you lose all your HP, where's the advantage in that? Not to mention it is basically the HP version of Asura. Meaning your enemy can use a GR+Deviling combo and reduct it to basically nothing. Just do yourself a favor and don't use it, it ain't worth having in your Hybrid Build. Another skill that isn't worth using in a Hybrid Build is Waste Money. The reason why is, well..., think Mammonite in a range form but it's weaker and has a massive delay. It truly is a Waste of Money, just do yourself a favor and don't waste your money using it.

Now since I talked about the proper build to use on a Ninja. You are probably wondering what is your advantage and disadvantage, well I will go over these now;

Advantages:

  • Improvise Defense can completely nullify all range damage like a Penuma.
  • Cicada Skin Shedding can completely nullify all +atk skills and regular melee hits.
  • If you use Hiding against someone who has cast time, such as a wizard; you can completely dodge their attacks using hiding before it's complete! Not to mention using Shadow Slash in the process to give them a massive blow!
  • Using a Hybrid Build, you can basically always have some way to hurt your opponent! Melee+Range > GTB/MDEF. Shadow Slash+Magic > Defense. Magic+Shadow Slash > Penuma.

Disadvantages:

  • The classes SinX, Paladin, and Scholar can be a HUGE problem for Ninja. Paladins vs your Ninja being the worst. Paladins are basically impossible, don't try it! A true Ninja will know his weaknesses and strengths.
  • The Skills Ki Explosion (With the addition of Eathena software. This skill is now blocked by Cicada Skin Shedding), Soul Breaker, and Pressure are also a big problem for your Ninja. Pressure being the worst, Pressure is unavoidable unless you use Hiding. Soul Breaker is the second worst. It CAN be blocked by Improvised Defense. However the disadvantage with this is the fact of the long delay; giving the SinX enough time to attack you while you wait. Ki Explosion can be a big hurting as well, however if you hit and run your opponent or using the Hiding/Shadow Slash method you can make it so they barely hit you with it.
  • Poison Status is a huge disadvantage vs your Ninja. Poison can only be nullified by 100 VIT (yes you heard me, 100 VIT!). Not to mention VIT is your weakest stat. This forces you to use Green Pots. There exists no poison immunity card, at least, maybe in the future there might be. So your only hope is the VIT or Green Pot method.
  • Kunais and Shurikens do not to a lot of damage, in fact, most of the time they fail (damage wise). I recommend using only Earth and Poison ones due to this; they have the biggest advantages over the other ones. The best way to power your Shurikens/Kunais is by having A LOT of Atk. Or if you use Shurikens, a lot of Atk + having a high ATSP (190 being the best) makes the Shurikens very spammable. This won't work very well on Kunais, however, according to iRO Wiki it should work.

The WoE Factor

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

A Ninja can be a very valuable Emperium defense when it comes to WoE. Your Ninja can also do some combat along with this! In this part i'm going to go over how your Ninja works in WoE and the proper build to use.

A Ninja in WoE is very different from a Ninja in PvP. In fact, your Ninja will be set up basically the same way you will set up your Ninja in PvM back when you were still leveling it. It's very important to use a full magic build in WoE, unless, you want to try the VIT version of this build. This is something I will explain later though. The reason why you want to use your magic in WoE is because your main role is Emperium Defense. Why you ask? Notice how 6 of your magical spells are AoE based and are honestly very destructive? Take that and use it against mobs of people in WoE! Especially around the Emperium. It works very well, especially if you have a Bard in your guild, if you have near IC or full IC and he uses Poem of Bragi, prepare to have the most fun you had on your Ninja with magic! You will be able to spam all your magic freely, take this and add 190 atsp (2 dopple cards and an awakening potion). It will be even more spammable! You want to make sure you accomplish this too since it means, more damage = more destruction = more kills. If your enemy decides to use a GTB against you, have no fear! Think of it like a Wizard or a HW in WoE. their main goal is not only slowing people down with their freezing and AoE spells. But it also forces people to use GTB. If they use GTB, this means your guild members that are melee based will do more damage to them. Meaning everybody has an advantage! Mob magic isn't all though, you can also gain your single target magic (don't use wind blade it sucks horribly). Use that with the IC+190 ATSP+PoB method I mentioned and you will be doing some massive magic damage on single targets too! Basically in WoE you want to accomplish the following things;

  • Keep an eye on your guilds Emperium, defend it with your mob magic.
  • Force people to wear GTB's/MDEf gears to allow your melee guild mates to take them down faster.
  • Defend your guild mates with your single target magic or AoE magic if necessary).

I always recommend that your Ninja should be 90+ with all 70 Job levels before you participate in WoE. You want to have your maximum performance for best results. You should also make sure that your Ninja has decent gears in WoE which is very important to have! Decent Ninja WoE gears include;

  • High Wizard Carded Headgear or Mid-Headgear (50% MDEF pierce against all enemies except for bosses. However, it will give you negative effects such as -10 Dex, no SP recovery, and you lose 2000 SP if the card is unequipped. That is basically all of your SP too! High Wizard cards are very important for WoE, in fact, I recommend using this over a DI if possible. If you try the VIT build for WoE. You can even try using 2. But this is very risky since this is -20 Dex and you won't be able to have your Kaho! I only recommend using 1 HW on a Mid-Headgear, but this is up to your taste.)
  • Unfrozen (Marc card) Aebeccee's Raging Typhoon Armor (Enchants Wind property. Immune to Freeze status; gives a bonus 5% resistance against Water attacks.)
  • Evil Druid carded Armor (Enchants Undead property. Immunity to Freeze and Stone Curse status. Immune to Poison and Shadow attacks. Disables the ability for people to heal and resurrect you, so be careful!)
  • Status Armors (These include the following; Rybio [Stun], Sasquatch [Freeze], Venomous [Poison], Pest [Stone Curse], Disguise [Silence], Skeleton Prisoner [Sleep], Nightmare Terror [Curse])
  • GTB (Golden Thief Bug) carded Valkyrie Shield or a Guard (Immunity to ALL magic, but double your SP cost on all skills. If used with Valkyrie's Shield, 20% resistance to Fire, Water, Undead, and Shadow Attacks; gives +5 MDEF.)
  • Toad or Thara Frog carded Valkyrie Shield or Guard (30% [with Thara] - 40% [With Toad] resistance to Demi-human damage. If used with Valkyrie's Shield, 20% resistance to Fire, Water, Undead, and Shadow Attacks; gives +5 MDEF.)
  • DL carded Shoes and DI carded Mid-Headgear combo set (+60% HP and +10% SP; 20% faster cast time)
  • Drake, Dopple, Dopple carded Ashura (Ninjas Choice!), Bazerald, or any dagger carded with Drake+Dopples. Drake alone will also work. (Enables Ninjas to use Waterball. If used with 2 Dopples and an Awake Potion you will be doing some serious Magic damage/Spamming.
  • Lord Kaho Horns (+20 to STR, INT, DEX, MDEF. This is a MUST for WoE Ninjas!)
  • Deviling + Raydric carded Mufflers (50% resistance to Neutral property attacks; but 50% more damage from any other property [Deviling]. 20% resistance to Neutral property attacks.)

If you have your basic WoE gears, you are almost done for being prepared for WoEing. Now you must learn the Stat build and the Skill build that you will use there. There are two different ways you can play a Ninja in WoE. You can try the full Magic build like the one I used, or you can try sacrificing some INT for VIT and make a VIT supportive build.

Full Magic Build Stats:

  • 99 INT
  • 99 DEX
  • 9 VIT

VIT Supportive Build Stats:

  • 80-90 INT
  • 99 DEX
  • 36-53 VIT

That 36 VIT will give you an extra 1,433 HP, which is a decent amount of bonus HP for this class. In fact, you could even go further with the INT with this build. In this case, you can even have 80 INT and 53 VIT. For a total of 6,304 default HP. Try adding a DL Sleipner to this and it will become 10,716 HP. Not as much as other classes, but it is a decent amount for Ninjas!

The choice is yours when it comes to stats. You can try the old fashion leveling build for speed for your AoE magic. Or you can choose the VIT supportive build for more HP and some DEF to be able to withstand some hits. With any build you choose, I strongly recommend having a HW card for more damage. You can make up for the -10 DEX lost from wearing a Kaho + HW Mid-Headgear by asking a Priest guild mate for a Blessing to gain the 10 Dex you lost back.

Skills:

Like I have said before, your Ninja needs to have as much magic as it possibly can, at Job 70 you should have these skills for WoE;

Improvise Defense Level 1
Shadow Jump Level 5
Cicada Skin Shedding Level 5
Spirit of the Blade Level 10
Crimson Fire Petal Level 5
Crimson Fire Formation Level 7
Crimson Fire Dragon Level 5
Spear of Ice Level 5
Hidden Water Level 7
Ice Meteor Level 5
Wind Blade Level 5
Lightning Strike of Destruction Level 5
Kamatachi Level 5

If you are wondering why Melee isn't effective in the WoE scene. This is because if you didn't notice already, Shadow Jump will not work in WoE. That's a seriously problem considering it plays a huge role in using the Shadow Slash technique. Range will also not work; this is because of the fact that Kunais and Shurikens, like I have said before, suck extremely bad in terms on PvP damage. TWS is also a huge failure in WoE. Especially since it lowers damage the more people there are in the AoE when you cast it. Over all, Melee/Range in WoE, BAD IDEA.

Chapter 5: Finding the BEST gears

I'm guessing your basically 99/70 now, however you probably don't have all the proper gears yet to make your Ninja work at full potential. I am here to help you out with this. I will tell you what the best weapons are for what skills and where to find them. A long with Weapons I will discuss the proper Armors/Gears. I will also go over cards that should be used by Ninjas and what the proper gears to put them on are.

Weapons:

Magic Weapon(s)
Spoiler for "Magic Weapons":

Ashura [3]

The good old Ashura can become your best friend when it comes to magic. However, you must first realize that the one you get at the job change is only a [2]. If you didn't know already, there exists a [3] version! The only way to get this weapon is either by donating with 1 AD (Easiest). Or you can also farm it by killing Baby Desert Wolves. However the chance of getting this weapon is basically near a card rate, 0.15%; 0.03% being a card rate. In order to get to the map where most Baby Desert Wolves are located, you must start in Prontera and go 2 maps down from there. The best card combo to use on this weapon is Drake, Dopple, Dopple. Drake card allows use of Waterball Lv. 5; what this means is, you can use the skill Hidden Water and cast Waterball whenever you want. The reason for having 2 Dopples in this weapon as a stack for Drake. Is because ATSP is a very important stat to have on your Ninja no matter what route you go; Magic, Melee, and Kunai/Shurikens with the acception of TWS. Dopples effect will lower the after cast delay of ALL your magic and Shurikens, apparently Kunais too but it doesn't have much of an effect. Meaning the closer you are to IC and stacking that with 190 ATSP. The more spammable your magic becomes, there will eventually be a point where you can gain IC (very risky to use though) and stack it with 190 ATSP. All i'm going to say is, that magic is pretty deadly. You can also use this weapon with Shadow Slash! Make advantage of your 190 ATSP and use extremely fast Neutral property Shadow Slashes!

Melee Weapon(s)
Spoiler for "Fumma Shuriken (Kazema) class weapons":

Fumma Shuriken Daisharin [4]

This is the Ninjas most valued weapon. Want to know why? There is a lot to know about this weapon. This weapon has to be one of the HARDEST weapons to get for many reasons. You will NEVER find this in a vending shop unless you are one lucky Ninja! This weapon is also dropped in one of the most confusing dungeons there is, Amatsu Dungeon. However, there is more! Once you reach the third floor of this dungeon you will need to hunt down a monster called Tengu. However, there is even more! Once you start fighting these monsters you have a card rate chance of getting it. So you say, oh it shouldn't be as hard as finding a card. Imagine this chance divided in half. Want to know why? You have a card rate chance of getting it. BUT you will either get the [3] one which can be bought at the Ninja weapon shop. Or you will end up getting the [4] one, which is the one you want. If you wish to find this weapon, I wish you luck my fellow Ninja, as it will be a LONG journey. There is also an MvP down here known as Incarnation Samurai, so watch yourself! The reason why this weapon is so valuable though is because of it's 4 slot compatibility. This allows you to get creative with your range attacks (Kunais, Shurikens, TWS). It will especially play a huge role with TWS. But you ask, what is the best card combo for this weapon? The answer to this is various. This is because it has been debated over several times, there isn't an exact answer. However, the Ninja known as Raruri used a Fumma with SSSP (Samurai, Samurai, Samurai, Phreeoni). This is the combination I wish to get, why is this? It is because 3 Samurais is equal to +195 atk. Not to mention you get 100 hit along with that from the Phreeoni. Meaning it is good to use against those annoying Flee users. It is also debated in other combination's such as SSSS, SSST, SSTT. So what I advise you with is, be creative. But use only Samurai, Turtle, and Phreeoni cards. Those are the best cards to use on it. Don't go trying something like Drake on it. There is a reason why Ashura [3] exists. Now to the main point, you can either go find this weapon like I mentioned, or you can just buy it for 1 AD. I STRONGLY recommend you use the buy with 1 AD method. It will save you LOADS of time. Not to mention you can get 1 AD simply by voting for a few days. If you happen to have the ADs for getting several of these weapons. You can try getting a +7. If you gain a +7 of this weapon, it will be at maximum effect.

Fumma Shuriken Beneki [1]

This is another one of your Ninjas Fumma class weapons. This weapon happens to be one of the more powerful weapons without needed very many cards. This weapon, in fact, only needs a Hydra card to be at max damage. However, the catch is the fact that this weapon is Wind property. This means it won't always be the advantage in battles. However, over all, this Fumma can be a big powerhouse for your TWS. Just be aware if they pull out something like Wind Armor; prepare for a switch. If you are wondering where to find this weapon, it is actually found in a familiar location if you can remember when you were still getting your simple gears, you must go to the same location as here;

Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination

Only this time, instead of talking to the Armor Dealer you must speak to the Weapon Dealer. Fumma Shuriken Beneki will be one of the options. You are probably now asking, does this mean it is easy to over refine? This is a yes, in fact, I strongly recommend you aim for a +7 Beneki before you card it with Hydra. That extra +3 vs a +4 Beneki will make a huge difference. Make sure you have a friend that has a 99/70 Whitesmith before you go attempting this over refine though, as it will make a 10% better success rate over Hollegrehan (not sure if I spelled it right)!

Fumma Shuriken Rekka

This Fumma is one of the stronger Fummas. This is the Fumma you would use if either your Beneki isn't doing enough damage, your Daisharin isn't doing enough damage or your Enemy is Wearing Ghostring + Neutral prop reduction, or if you need a Fire prop weapon when you decide to use Shadow Slash. Unlike the other 2 Fummas I mentioned, this one lacks a Slot. However to make up for this, it has A LOT of atk. However, if you want this weapon to have maximum effectiveness; like the other 2 Fummas, it must be +7. Especially since it has no card slots! You want it to be as powerful as you can make it. There are 3 ways to obtain this weapon. You must either kill the MvP I mentioned earlier Incarnation Samurai (hardest), get a class that can go to Thors dungeon and kill Fire Imps to obtain the Fumma Shuriken Rekka at a card rate, 0.03%. Or you need to buy it with 1 AD at the shop (easiest). I recommend if you make over ups of this weapon, you should either do the Thors Farming Technique with a class that you have that does very well there. Or just get it with 1 AD.

Fumma Shuriken Spirit of Kamatachi [2]

This is the newest of the Fumma class weapons out there. Before anything, I must say this to avoid confusion. This Fumma has many different names. The original name being Spirit of Kamatachi; then it can also be called Fumma/Humma Calm Mind, or Fumma/Humma Morning Star Shuriken. But to avoid confusion, let’s just stick with its original name, Spirit of Kamatachi. Now I will get onto the point. Unlike the other 3, this one has a unique amount of slots, 2. This one also has an amazing unique buff added inside; uninterruptible casting, and 30% more damage with Throw Wind Shuriken. So even without cards added into it, it already has a huge advantage over the other 3! Another thing to note, unlike the other 3, it has “balanced” attack; 112. This weapon is also like the Daisharin because it happens to be a neutral property weapon. Obviously, this weapon is meant for the skill Throw Wind Shuriken. So because of this you will want to card it with % cards. Samurai’s will also work, however, since it’s not the strongest weapon in the world. I recommend carding this weapon with a Turtle and a Samurai, but that’s just me, be creative.

Spoiler for "Dagger class weapons":

Main Gouche [4]

This is the one Dagger that will become one of your Ninjas best friends when it comes to various situations. why is this? It's because you use it for various situations like I said. Notice how it has 4 slots, that's A LOT of slots! The cards you should use on this dagger, however, are status cards. Why is this? It's because you will never use Drake on this weapon since Ashura exists. Not to mention that these Main Gouche's are not exactly meant for power on this class. You can try dopples, yet again, if you gain the Ashura combo I mentioned, there should not be any purpose for that. UNLESS you try something like a HHDD (2 Hydra 2 Dopple), now this is understandable since this allows fast attacking under Shadow Slash and more damage against Demi-Human. You should carry around status daggers such as Stun, Silence, Freeze, Sleep, Curse. Why is this you ask? If you use your Shadow Slash, it WILL pass on Status effects! This can really help you out on most situations, but you need to know what to use at what time. Certain status's won't work on certain enemies. Here's how it works;

  • Freeze v.s. Targets with no Marc armor/Targets with low VIT
  • Stun v.s. Targets with no Orc Hero Mid-Gear/Targets with low VIT
  • Sleep v.s. Targets with no Nightmare Mid-Gear/Targets with low INT
  • Curse v.s. Targets with low VIT or LUK (I know it's one or the other but I don't exactly remember which one)
  • Silence v.s. Targets with no Marduk Mid-Gear/Targets with low VIT

Just remember, this weapon doesn't need to be +10 unless you get something like the combo I mentioned earlier, HHDD. Otherwise, your Status daggers should not be over the safe refine limit since it is not for damage, it is meant for Statusing. The safe level for these weapons are +7.

Gladius [3]

This is is one of those daggers you may not use often, however I may be wrong on your taste. This is the type of dagger you should use with Metaling or a full powerhouse weapon that you can use with shields. If you are wondering, why would a Ninja ever need a Metaling card? This may answer your question. Did you notice that weapons such as certain SQIs, Certain weapons, and Maces are indestructible? This does not mean that they are immune to weapon strips! If you decide to use a Metaling Gladius on your Ninja. Always card it with 2 Dopples. A Metaling card with no dopples is pretty lame and will never work out the way you want. I have tested if Metaling works with Shadow Slash. By the looks of it, it looks like it might and it might not. I have not 100% proven it. The way you should use a Metaling on your Ninja is like any other class. Just melee your enemy like no tomorrow until you know they are stripped. Just be careful because your enemy might have some attack to counter your Cicada Skin Shedding! The other combination you can have on your Ninja is something like a SSS Gladius (Samurai, Samurai, Samurai). Sounds familiar doesn't it? It's basically the same thing a SinX will use with SB (Soul Breaker). As well as basically the same combo as the Daisharin combo I mentioned but excluding the Phreeoni SSSP. Why would you need this weapon? This weapon is basically focused toward Kunai damage; as +atk cards will raise it's damage by a lot. You could also use this weapon in Shadow Slash. In case you need some strong Neutral prop weapon to beat the enemy with. Gladius is a weapon that is very valuable if it's +7. The more + the better!

Murasame [2]

This is your Ninjas best friend when it comes to physical Water damage. I honestly prefer this weapon over a VVS Water Damascus any day. Why is this you ask? lets do a comparison;

Murasame: atk: 95; +10 Crit toward Demi-Human (Meaning 10% more success with Shadow Slash Crit); [2]

Damascus: atk: 118+ 2 Star crumbs; Indestructible

If you say, I still don't get it, doesn't the Damascus still do more damage? Think about this for a second. That Damascus may be indestructible, but, it doesn't have a single slot. However if you use the Murasame not only do you gain that extra 10% to Crit with Shadow Slash. But you also have 2 slots meaning you can card it with 2 Hydras. In fact, you should only card this with 2 Hydras. That 40% more damage makes a HUGE difference. There is only one way to find this weapon in game. Remember the place I mentioned for the Daisharin [4]? Ok take that and make it so you need to fight Shinobis instead. Only this time, it's easier to get vs the Daisharin. This time it only drops the [2] version and it is a 0.15% chance. This is another weapon you can get for 1 AD. This Murasame is yet again another weapon you want to try to get a +10 of. This weapon is over all easier to refine to +10. Since it is a lv. 2 weapon and it's safe level is +6. Over all, this will be very helpful for physical Water damage, get a hold of it!

VVS Earth Damascus

This is a Ninjas only option for physical earth damage. However, the Obsidian Dagger does exist, but this one is far better damage wise. In order to obtain this weapon. You must have a friend with a Blacksmith or a Whitesmith that can make it for you. However in order to make this weapon, you must get the following ingredients;
  • 1 Zircon
  • 4 Oridecon
  • 60 Steel
  • 2 Star Crumbs
  • 1 Great Nature

You also better hope that your Blacksmith/Whitesmith friend has good stats for the Best success rate. Otherwise, you gotta get the ingredients all over and try again! However if you do end up succeeding, get this weapon to +4. Do not attempt an over up on this rare weapon. Unless you do happen to have the stuff and money to make various duplicates of this weapon; then try to get a +7. This is the type of weapon you would use in Shadow Slash if you have no idea what your opponents element is. Or if you know your enemy has Wind armor on. Earth prop is the one element that has no self reduction! This means if your enemy has earth armor (very unlikely though) It will not reduct your damage! The only thing that can is Fire, Holy, or Hode (30% reduction from Earth). Over all this is a great weapon to have on your side!

Holy Dagger

This is another strong weapon to the Ninjas. Why is this? It's because it is very hard to obtain. The only way you can get this Dagger is by donation. However there's a catch. Instead of 1 AD like I have been saying for the past few weapons/gears. This weapon happens to be a total of 5 ADs! So take the 1 AD method I have mentioned and make it x5. Honestly though, this is the last weapon you should get. You will only use this if you enemy happens to pull out Shadow/Undead Armor. Which is usually very unlikely vs a Ninja. With the acception of Undead armor if you happen to be Stone Cursing or Freezing them too much and they figure to use Undead to stop that. This is another one of those weapons that you will only need to +4. But like I have said before, if you can afford various amounts of these, go for a +7. The advantage with the Holy Dagger, however, is that it can tear through basically element armor except for it's own element, Holy.

Gokurin

Need a weapon that can defeat an enemies Holy armor? Or even a weapon that can Curse your enemy and yet have very decent damage? This is the answer to both these questions. This is a very valuable weapon to have for your Ninja. You not only get a whooping of 150 atk, but you also gain a 10% chance to curse your enemy at the same time! Curse is one of the status's that can really give your Ninja the advantage. Curse will lower their speed dramatically and at the same time cut their atk rate. Which is basically making them a sitting duck to your attacks unless they can use range attacks. The Shadow prop does have some disadvantages though. It will not work against itself, Poison, or Undead property; So be aware of this. This weapon can be found from Petites at a 0.15% chance. They have various locations, so find an area you wish to locate them at here; http://ratemyserver.net/mob_db.php?mob_id=1156&small=1&back=1 . Otherwise, you can get this weapon for 1 AD.

Poison Knife

Having this dagger in your inventory can become a huge advantage for you. This dagger is basically an instant poison once you attack your enemy with it. However, like any dagger, there are times when it can be an advantage and there may be times where it won't be the advantage. Times when it will be an advantage is when your fighting someone with lower VIT. Which include classes such as Monk, Mage Classes, and sometimes Range classes. I do not recommend using Poison against a Thief type class though. Since they have the skill Detox. Which will cure any Poison status. Poison Knife is debated between it being Neutral prop or Poison prop. However, I believe it is Poison prop. Also be aware, any class can avoid Poison pretty easy. Make sure you are careful when you decide to use Poison! Your enemy could either pull out a Poporing accessory or Green pots or 100 Vit!

Swordbreaker and Mailbreaker

You are probably wondering, why did you place these both in the same description? This is because they both basically have the same effects, so I wouldn't be saying much different if they were separate topics. Anyway, these 2 Daggers may become your life saver on certain situations.
Swordbreaker: Let's say your enemy is a Nib Knight with 190 ATSP. They have High MDEF or GTB, and they can endure a lot of your attacks. Well, what would happen if their Nib suddenly became useless? This Swordbreaker is your answer. The Swordbreaker can be used by using Shadow Slash. Yes this means you can do the simple Shadow Slash + Shadow Jump method and it will break their weapon! Please note that it may take a few tries. This is because the chance of this working is 5%. Also note that you don't need to use Shadow Slash to work this. If you can, try to get up next to them and melee them. It will increase your chances. Also note that not all weapons are breakable! weapons such as Damascus, Axes, and Maces are indestructible and cannot be broken! Certain SQI's such as Moljinr, Djinn, Evangelist, and Tome of Ymir are also indestructible! The card known as Golem can also make a weapon indestructible. You will rarely see a Golem carded weapon in PvP. But there is always a chance! The skill known as FCP (Full Chemical Protection) and Chemical Protection Weapon will make a weapon indestructible too. However people that use FCP in PvP just makes them a cheater, don't even bother.
Mailbreaker: Mailbreaker is basically the same thing as a Swordbreaker, except it's the Armor version. Meaning this will break any type of Armor that your opponent is using. This is great to use against those annoying Armor switchers that really put your damage down. However do note that like the Swordbreaker, certain Armors are indestructible. Valkyrie Armor being the most common. But you will not see it on non trans chars since Valk Armor is a trans exclusive gear. The card known as Cornutus will also make Armors indestructible. But you will almost never see this in PvP like the Golem card. Also, like the Swordbreaker, the skill FCP and Chemical Protection Armor will make it indestructable too. But like I have said before, people that use FCP in PvP just makes them a cheater, so don't even bother.

Armors:

Spoiler for "Armor(s)":

Formal Suit [1]

This will become your most important slotted Armor you will ever find. Why is this? This thing gives you a huge amount of Defense, 5 to be exact. Not to mention it's only 50 pounds. As a Ninja, you do not have as much room for weight compacity as you do on other classes. So having lighter gears is very important for you. Formal Suits can be found in Glaist Heim Courtyard. In order to get here, you must go to Glaist Heim Dungeon, then go left, then up, then go to the closest right warp. The Skeleton Prisoners drop them there at a card rate chance. You can also do the simple 1 AD voting method to get it. They are sometimes extremely hard to get from venders. If you do find it, it will be around 500k+. I recommend you try to get a +5 Formal Suit if you have multiples. Why only 5 you ask? It's because once you get +5, you get a full 10 Defense. There is basically no need to go much further. I recommend you save a lot of these Armors up, you will realize that they become your most valued armor. You need these armors for cards such as status armors and elemental armors!

Aebeccee's Raging Typhoon Armor [1]

Unlike your other Armor, this one tends to be pretty heavy. However, this is the only Armor that will be extremely heavy for you. This should be the armor that you put your Marc card on (5% resistance to water, immunity to freeze status). This is because it deducts 2 elements, Water and Wind. It is basically a protection against the skill Storm Gust. It tends to be a very common armor in WoE. So I really recommend you get your hands on one of these! It also does not have to be over refined. You only need this thing to +4. If you do want to get multiples and over refine it, get a +6 and no more. That will get you a good 10 defense. Be careful when you decide to use this though! There may be times when your enemy has an earth weapon AND freezing chances. If this is the case, switch this Armor between an ED armor! You can obtain this armor by 2 ways. You can either donate for it for 10 ADs. Or you can buy it from venders for around 5-10m.

Spoiler for "Headgear(s)":

Lord Kaho's Horn

This headgear, has to be a Ninjas most important gear. This is because this one headgear will give you a gigantic bonus of +20 STR, INT, DEX, and MDEF! Your Ninja is made up of all these stats! If you can one day can afford some kind of expensive gear, then THIS is the gear that you need first! Trust me, this should always be your first expensive gears, these 20 stats make a HUGE difference in your performance. Not to mention along with this, you get that 20 MDEF to protect yourself from magic attacks! Please, do yourself a favor, and NEVER over up a Kaho! I have seen this done before and they have been broken (It's sad to see). Just once you get a +4 Kaho, NEVER over up it, EVER! Unless your some extremely rich member, but that's a different story... The Kaho may not have a slot on it, but it will sure make up for being itself! There are three ways to obtain the Kaho. The first way being the SQI quest, which can be located here: http://www.jellyro.com/forums/index.php/topic,83.0.html (look for Horn of Lord Kaho). Nobody ever does this quest honestly, because people find it easier to just go buy it from venders or donate for it. The second way, is by buying it from venders. Please note that a Kaho comes in many different forms! It can be basically any sprite you want. A headgear that has the Kaho stats will clearly say Kaho after its name! The Kahos will usually range from 80-120m depending on the Kaho (So you better save A LOT of money). The third way is by donating. Unless you have the money to waste, I recommend you to donate for the Kaho if it's your absolute second option and you can afford it and have the spare money for it. The Kaho donation page can be found here: http://www.jellyro.com/shop/index.php?p=cat&id=4

Mid-Headgears [1]/Lower-Headgears:

I did not put up a suspific option for these two. Why is that you ask? It's because it's various! There are various amounts of these available in this server! You can find out about these by going to this donation page: Mid-Headgear: http://www.jellyro.com/shop/index.php?p=cat&id=2. The lower head-gear however, is kinda like the Kaho, but a lot cheaper. It is called a Cat Bell, it will give you 5 Def but has no slot. These also have various options which is why I didn't put up a suspific option for these either. There are 2 ways to obtain these Cat Bells. You can either get them from venders for around 50m. Or you can get them from ADs by going to this link: http://www.jellyro.com/shop/index.php?p=cat&id=5 .

Spoiler for "Shields":

Valkyrie's Shield [1]

This is the shield that your Ninja should always use. Why not a Guard if you asked? As you get better as your Ninja, you will realize that you need only 3 important Shield Cards. These cards being GTB (Golden Thief Bug, Immunity to all magic, but doubles SP amount on all skills), Maya (+30 Mdef, allows use of lv. 4 Auto Guard), and Toad (40% resistance to Demi-Human attacks). Toad and Maya being the most important Valkyrie Shield cards. I recommend that you get these two card before you get the GTB Valk. In fact, GTB doesn't exactly have to be on a Valk Shield. It can be on a guard if you want. The only time a GTB Valk is useful is if your in places like Thors or your against an SQI Priest. The Valkyrie Shield will grant +5 Mdef along with 20% resistance to Fire, Water, Shadow, and Undead prop attacks. That's a lot of resistance! Not to mention it is really light weight. It also has decent defense. Like the Kaho, you should never over up these shields, keep it at +4. Unless, like I have said before, you have the money to do so.There are three ways to get this shield. One being to go to Odin dungeon room 3. I highly don't recommend this unless you are part of a Valkyrie hunt team. The second way being to buy it from venders, they usually go for around 30m or so. You can also donate for it for 30 ADs.

Spoiler for "Shoe(s):

Sleipner [1]

These are the highest quality shoes for your Ninja. It has a slot, gives you 10 MDEF, 20% HP and SP along with 15% bonus SP recovery effectiveness, and a permanent AGI UP. This is what you should get after the Kaho. If you do not have the Kaho yet, then get that before trying to get this, since Kaho is the most important gear. You should ALWAYS slot your Sleipner with a DL card (50% Bonus HP). That HP is very important to have on your Ninja, not to mention if you decide to use some other Mid-Headgear besides your DI combo card, the Sleipner HP/SP bonus basically makes up for it! You should also never over up these! Just keep them at +4 like any other insanely hard to get gear. Unless you can afford the over up! There are two ways to obtain this gear. You can either make it yourself through the SQI quest, which I recommend you do. You can find this information on the quest by going to the link I posted before: http://www.jellyro.com/forums/index.php/topic,83.0.html. Or you can buy it from venders for around 70-90m.

Spoiler for "Garment(s)":

Muffler [1]

Yep, it's the good old Muffler [1]. This thing is going to stick to your side for a long time. It is not only easy to obtain, but it is basically one of the best mufflers available for your Ninja. If possible, try to get an over refine of this, I strongly recommend you get duplicates to do so! If you get a +8, I recommend you stop there, that is enough to give you the 10 defense you need! There are many different Garment cards for your Ninja to use, these include the 30% resistance to element cards Jakk (Fire), Marse (Water), Dustiness (Wind), Hode (Earth), Myst (Poison). Along with Deviling (50% resistance to neutral prop damage, but 50% more damage from anything else) and Raydric (20% resistance to neutral prop). Another great card for your Ninja is Frilldora for Cloaking. For all these different choices, this means you must have various amounts of these Mufflers. Like I said, stock up and get as many as possible to gain all the effects! You can obtain these by venders (which they sell them for around 50-100k), donation with 1 AD, or you can find them in a popular leveling area known as Niffelhiem (shortened to Niff).

Spoiler for "Accessory(s)":

Brysingamen [1] and Meginjard
Probably the most brutal SQI quest you will ever go on. These two SQI accessories are the BEST accessories in the game. However, like I said, they are extremely annoying and hard to obtain, as they need a lot of zeny and items to obtain. To find the ingredients for these SQI quests go to this link that I mentioned:
http://www.jellyro.com/forums/index.php/topic,83.0.html. Here is how they both work;

Brisingamen [1]: This is the slotted Accessory. Think of it like a Celebration Ring (+5 to all stats, but no bonus defenses), except it's slotted, and it will give you an additional +5 MDEF and DEF unlike the Celeb ring. You should always have either a Sting (+4 Dex) or a Berzebub (30% less cast time). I honestly think Sting is the best choice for your Brys. Since Dex is more valuable then the Berzebub. It will give you Hit along with more cast time. If you have 2 Sting Bris, it will give you +18 dex. Combine that with the 5 Dex Ninja naturally has, 23. Then add a Kaho to that, 43 Dex in total! This means you will only need 2 Dex gears to get IC! However, you shouldn't need complete IC if you have learned over time.
Meginjard: This is the hardest Accessory SQI to obtain. 200m, + all those ingredients! I honestly believe you should get 2 Bris instead of this. But if you do happen to have 2 Bris and would like to go for 2 of these too, be my guest. However, if you end up getting these, it will become an extremely important Shadow Slash and Kunai buff! +45 Str is an EXTREME amount. If combined with your Kaho it will be +65. That will give a tremendous power buff for your Kunais and Shadow Slash!

Be aware, once you gain these Accessory SQI's, they are extremely heavy. So be cautious of your Weight Limit! If you cannot afford these Accessory's, then you can go with the cheaper route of either getting 2 Berz Rosarys (best option), or 2 Celeb Rings (good for Shadow Slash and high Dex).

Chapter 6: The Ninja Card index

This section is basically a Card index for your Ninja. This is where you will find all the best cards for your Ninja.

Dex Cards:
Spoiler for "Dex Card(s)":

  • Stem Worm: Garment card, adds +5 Dex. Stem Worms can be located at the field south of Aldebaran. You can also buy it from venders for around 5m. You will also find it at the donation shop for 10 ADs.
  • Rocker: Armor card, adds +1 Dex. Rockers can be found one map left and one map down from Prontera. You can also find this at a very low price in both ADs and venders. It is also a common card drop from OCA's (Old Card Albums).
  • Gargoyle: Shoes card, adds +5 Dex. Gargoyles can be found variously in Glaist Heim. The most common one being the map where u rob Stylist Anne the second time. You can find this card for around 5m from venders. Or 5 ADs in donation.
  • Moonlight Flower: Shoes card, adds +5 Dex and permanent AGI UP. This can be found from the MvP (but once in a great moon). To find this MvP you must reach the 5th floor of Payon dungeon. These are also worth around 20m+ from venders and 25 ADs in donation. This card is basically an upgraded version of Gargoyle.
  • Sting: Accessory card, adds +4 Dex. If you get a Glove [1] or a Brisingamen [1], this is the card you would use for that. You can find Stings on the same map as the Gargoyles. Except, you go to the closest most northern map from the spawn point. You can find this card for around 6m by itself or around 8m on a Glove [1]. You can also obtain it by using 5 ADs.
  • Drops: Weapon card, adds +1 Dex and +3 Hit. You need a total of 4 Drops cards to get the maximum effect of these. You can find drops very commonly in desert areas, such as the baby desert wolves map or Poring Island. You can also buy it for around 350k Note: might be less now because of the Halloween event. Or you can donate for it for 1 AD each.
  • Vesper: Headgear card, adds +2 Dex. Ignores 30% of any boss monsters MDEF. If you are a fan of MvPing, I strongly recommend you get this card, it is a helpful gear to have! You can also donate for it for 15 ADs.

A few eAthena updates to the Ninja class, mainly to Cicada:

[Cicada Skin Shedding]:
-Cicada's pushback causes a lot more wonky pos lag, be careful.
-Cicada now blocks [Sand Attack].
-Cicada now blocks [Ki Explosion].
-Cicada now blocks [Throw Kunai].
-Cicada now blocks [Throw Shuriken].
-Cicada now blocks the SP drain of [Warmth of the Sun, Moon, and Stars.].

-Status weapons do not proc through Cicada anymore. i.e A sin's quad silence dagger won't silence you during Cicada.

[Improvised Defense]:
-Status weapons do not proc through Improvised Defense as long as Cicada is still active.
-When being hit by a ranged attack with both Cicada and Improv active, Improv blocks the attack before the hit back of Cicada is applied. i.e. You won't get hit out of your Improv when Cicada is active.

[Throw Kunai] and [Throw Shuriken]
-Throw Kunai and Throw Shuriken now proc status on your weapon. i.e. Have an Quad freezing mg on hand to freeze someone with Shurikens and Kunai.

Other:
-The aftercast delay of [Hidden Water] is now completely ASPD based.
-[Illusionary Shadow and [Cicada Skin Shedding] are still reduced by the same hits. i.e. when both are active, hits blocked by Cicada also count to Illusionary Shadow's five hits.
