The following guide was created by wolfthegreat on August 2010

wolfthegreat's guide to lvl/farm with rogue :D (specially for newbies)

Please Take Note

-This guide as said by the title is for newbies who would like to start with a rogue for thier first char for 2nd job.

-Please keep in mind that this guide will require you to have a merchant/Blacksmith/Alchemist that is able to use the skill vending.(level 1 vending will do)

-You won't be needing any merchant/blacksmith till you're lv55 so don't worry.

-This guide only teaches you how to start with a rogue till you hit lv99 and farm some $$ for some decent gears, for example, horn of lord kaho :D

-Read the introduction to Rogue to really know if you will want to play this job :)

-During the process to lv99, lots of patience will be needed(You will get what I mean as you read on)

-Leveling will not be fast once you hit lv91 since the training spot do not give much exp but lots of $$

-Please take note of the server rules... Don't break any :(

Introduction to Rogue :)

-Awesome job that has auto steal(awesome to allow newbie to farm 1.7mil in 2hour 30mins with a weapon without good cards)

-Able to use both dagger and bow(I won't be talking about bow since we are talking about leveling and farming at the same time and bow is money wasting)

-Able to copy skill(But copied skill will get replace with the skill they have just been hit with)

-Able to steal coins for just a little bit of extra cash(Not auto... I didn't use this much but have seen some people use this)

-Being able to use 1 magic if you save it as the skill you copied, being able to use a bow, being able to use a dagger. This means rogue/stalker is a flexible job.  ::)

I don't wanna drag the introduction any longer yea thats almost about many of the awesome part of rogue.

Before rogue

1) Level 1-40

Just get those novice gears that is 1zeny at any novice shop by selling knife and cotton shirt. Then head to payon dungeon to train, you can try geffen dungeon 1 at lv30 killing those poison spores.
Do not job change to thief till you hit lv40.
At lv40 I think you would have just a little cash. So common sense tells you... You got nothing worth buying.

2) Level 40-51

Stats at lv40(you do not have to follow if you don't want to)
str 20
agi 52
vit 1
int 1
dex 21
luk 1

Stats at lv51
str 26
agi 61
vit 1
int 1
dex 31
luk 1

Skill for thief b4 you change job(minimum)
Envenom lv3
detoxify lv1
steal lv10
increase dodge lv10
Double attack lv10
hiding lv5

Gears at lv40(get what you think is best)
Beginner dagger(do the thief job change quest to get it)
guard
sandal
hat[1](this one I did not buy it. Poison spores in geffen dungeon drop loads of them)

Honestly, at this level, I would reccomend you go payon dungeon at the start to get some job lv up. Max up your double attack first.
After that get your perfect dodge up. At around job lv 16 you can try going to geffen dungeon 1 to kill poison spores. Please remember to bring some meats with you.
When you are at Geffen dungeon, don't get a whole group of poison spore to surround you. 1 or 2 at a time. You are not a merchant or swordman... You got no AOE skills. When you hit lv51 you might want to go geffen look for people from the guild called newbies helping hand.
They should be willing to tank leaf cat for you. Leaf cat give lots of job exp and thus ask them to tank leaf cat and not mystcase...
Let them tank you.
I change job at job 40... Which actually can be done. You can change job the moment you hit job40... So if you want to change job at that lv, please feel free to do so...
After you change job, you will be back to payon dungeon till you are at job 12. If you want, you can get 200 meats and go leaf cats(caution this is kind of a waste of money).

Skills at job 12(when you're rogue)
Snatcher lv 10
tunnel drive lv1

Warning!!! This is the start of the real patience... Beginning of your rogue journey

Level 51-99
By this time... My gears are the following only

Damascus[1]
Hat[1]
Guard
Sandal

- The only change in my gears is only that I bought a damascus... Nothing much... You might want to go for the dagger called grimtooth later if you feel like. But I would reccomend you stick to this damascus.
from Level 51-99... I would reccomend you train at toy factory second floor :o yes toy factory :) this place will be your home and your main farming ground :)
When you got your flee gears up, you will probably be going to earn 1mil per 2hour 30 mins :D very high earning for people who do not have dopp weapons :)
Yes toy factory will be your home for so long...

- For start at lv 51... With those gears you have, it will be sufficient for you to earn several hundred thousand a day if you play 3 hours a day. Just bring 200 meats and 4 awake potions to toy factory for your first trip

- You will kill mystcase :) they drop cakes which can be sold at 5k each to players :D and kill cookies and cookie xmas for they drop cookies which can be sold at 1k each to players :) Make sure you have a merchant up by this time and make sure your merchant have the skill vending

- Always remember to avoid cruisers by using hiding and walk away... They are a thorn in the flesh so that explains the reason for having 200 meats...

- If you do have a merchant... Be sure to vend your cakes at least 300 at a time and your cookies at least 50 at a time

- When you are higher lv with higher flee, you can stop avoiding those cruisers...

Theory behind my stats

- The reason why you want lots of agi early is pretty simple :) More flee more aspd :) you will waste less meats and you will want more aspd to kill the monster faster

- Since I want to kill the monster faster, Why don't I add more Str?

Simply because, for every mystcase, you will want to steal from it once at least, before killing it. Not killing it in as little hit as possible :D

- Why must my dex be so high, I can have 25 dex at lv 91 and hit 100% of the time so why?

To increase the success rate of steal :) as I said you will want to steal from the mystcase before killing it.

How do I add my stats from lv51 onwards? (You can choose to follow and not to follow)

Stats at Level 71
str 41
Agi 81
vit 1
Int 1
Dex 41
Luk 1

Stats at Level 82

Gears to get along the way...

- First, +7 anti-small shoes

- Second, +7 Mocking muffler

- Third, Moonlight hat(if you can find it

- Fourth, +7 Anti-medium buckler/guard

- Fifth, Blazer clip(helps you earn more $$)

- Sixth, this sounds crazy but... You might wanna go either hell poodle or... Well... You know... Horn of lord kaho :o
Yea I know this sounds crazy to farm cakes all the way to 85mil just to buy a pair of horn also it does not increase the rate you farm cakes very much.

If you had bought a hell poodle, skip Horn of lord kaho and go for this

- Seventh, DDP gladius :) Please get at least a +7 one... This dagger does helps with whatever new char you making too :D
I would reccomend you get this since if you want to change training spot, you can just go mobster :D

If you went on the hell poodle then gladius route

- Eight, well of course you should get Horn of Lord Kaho now. It is quite a good headgear but it might take a while to get to this.

How to pick daggers?(optional)

If you intend to play a hardcore dagger rogue/stalker, this you might want to read this

- A lot of people has been saying that the best dagger to pick is a DDP gladius or a DDPT Main gauche. But unfortunately, that is not so. The reason why within my
guide I ask you guys to get a DDP glad is because, since you guys are newbies or do not have that much zeny, DDP gladius provides god flexibility since when you
create your next char, they can use it. I would reccomend you to stick just to DDP gladius though, since it works awesome enough for farming.

DDP gladius/mes
~DDP mes is totally useless for a stalker actually. If you want to get a DDP for a stalker, I would rather you go for a gladius since mes can only be use
for a trans.

DDT gladius/mes
~If you are going for a stalker, and still want to use the auto steal theory and farm, try going for a DDT, if not just stick to your DDP gladius.
DDT gladius is nothing much of a use for rogue or stalker. So go with DDT mes instead. Do this only after you get your DDP gladius. But it is up to personal preference.

DDPT Main gauche
~This is... What people say is the best dagger to get for rogue/stalker but... To be honest, This is the worst dagger for any rogue/stalker of all the daggers
I have mention so far. It really just suck. Nothing much I can say but it is just terrible. If you say you want to MVP with this dagger then... All the
best... Since it is better to use bow to MVP with a rogue/stalker.(sherwood bow)

Any dagger with baphomet card in it
~If you would like to use the 1 kill 1 steal theory, then a baphomet carded dagger will reduce the effectiveness of this way.
