Also, I won't be researching/writing/screenshoting for minigames since i don't participate, but i can help with formatting all parts of the Events article once it has more information (if no one has taken up the task by then).

I'm okay with plurals. --Aena (talk) 23:04, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Revision as of 23:04, 30 August 2013

Greetings, everyone. I realize that it may be difficult to keep track of what's going on, so I have made a page specifically to track tasks. Feel free to add items to the end of this list, strikeout, remove, or reword tasks that have been completed wholly or partially, or claim tasks by signing your name next to them. Use the Discussion page to explain incomplete tasks in greater detail.

  • Flesh out the "Beginner's Guide" article. Lead the player from the end of the "Start-up Guide" to the second job change, then link to each job page at the end.
    • Link to the "Beginner Weapons" page in the article.
    • Consider including a "Related Guides" or "Further Reading" section that links to the player-created beginner guides.
    • It might be best if all three of you can work on this one together.
      • Adellie (talk) 14:40, 30 August 2013 (UTC): Once an outline/toc is created or decided on, just tell me all the sections no one wants to do and i'll fill stuff in.
      • Aena (talk) 23:04, 30 August 2013 (UTC): I'll switch to making it more outline-y. I'll do more after the 4th. :x
    • Suggestion: Include a section for first job classes. Make redirect pages for each first class that lead to this section.
  • Updated: Make the "Events" article pretty, and adjust text as necessary. We can ask Sir Robot to help with descriptions if desired. This page will likely be split in the future, so don't worry if it starts to look big.
    • Adellie (talk) 14:40, 30 August 2013 (UTC): The reason i wanted to start the History of Events article was so that people could look to the wiki if they didn't know how x limited edition item was obtained. So! I'll continue to look in the announcements/archived sections for events that did give interesting prizes, and probably ignore others that are too old or irrelevant. Also, I won't be researching/writing/screenshoting for minigames since i don't participate, but i can help with formatting all parts of the Events article once it has more information (if no one has taken up the task by then).
    • Aena (talk) 23:04, 30 August 2013 (UTC): I've done a few of them but not Battle Royale. I haven't seen that one since it was first released...? —Plus I don't PvP anyway.
  • Headgear quest page needs custom quest information. You may simply link to Volk's "Makeable Headgears and Their Ingredients v2.0" thread at the end to save time for older existing headgear quests.
    • Later, GM Skoll can gather headgear quest information for this page to avoid linking to Volk's guide. Please let me know if one of you would like to take responsibility for formatting this page. You may work with Skoll to find the best way to do this.
    • Hats of Summer 2013 page needs research. I cannot start the Wolf's quest, and I cannot find Sage Miyagi. I will ask Skoll about this when I next see her so I can get more information.
    • Adellie (talk) 14:40, 30 August 2013 (UTC): I'm not willing to work on the headgear quests article for now. However, if you guys decide to continue with the db-like headgears article later, i'll lend my assistance.
  • Move "War of Emperium 2.0" to a section within the "War of Emperium" article.
    • Adellie (talk) 14:40, 30 August 2013 (UTC): What infos need do we need for woe2? I plan on merging the War of Emperium Schedule back into the main article. I realize my attempt at a schedule is hard to understand, despite the maps and colours. Not sure how i can make the display the schedule so that it's easier to interpret at first glance... but i'm thinking about it.
  • Create the "Faction War" article. Make "Direct Assault" a section within the larger Faction War article.
  • Ignore "Professor Bill" for now.
  • PR-Kirek might add directions or work on IsFörsvar's page(s) herself.

Mercenary article: OK! We can ignore this page for now since I don't think many players take advantage of this system. This can be last if we get to it. I removed all strikeout text to show that this list is getting smaller. We have 6 tasks right now. It's not even September yet, so good job! Alexiel has also returned. =D *Ai

Re: Page titles "Pets" vs "Pet"

I would like to know the verdict on this so we can start making these pages consistent asap. I was dumb at the start of this project and changed a bunch of pages to singular noun titles.... due to both

Super Quest Items
Super Quest Items

producing the same result: Super Quest Items

And then i thought it would be easier if the page title was singular, for when you're talking about it in a sentence. (ie. If the title was plural, you couldn't use "Click here to see the Super Quest Item ingredients".) Anyway, sorry all. i realize we can have unlimited redirects so it really doesn't matter at all....

My vote goes to plurals (( Adellie (talk) 12:18, 27 August 2013 (UTC) ))

Understood. I had the same observation about the existing links when I first looked at the front page. My thought is this: If I do not want to find it on the main page and just want to search quickly for a list of pets, I will likely search for [list of] pets, plural, rather than pet, singular. If we missed making a redirect page, that still brings the player directly to the target page. More for consistency, we do not need to explain what a guide is, so the "Guides" page makes more sense in plural than singular. Making other pages plural keep them consistent with that. There is no need to apologize, however. =) *Ai
